Since December 6, 2022, we have seen an array of issues this current
Council majority has imposed on us: huge payouts from the city treasury to
their campaign supporters, putting local control of planning for

Our immediate task is to defeat the March 5, 2024 Primary election
charter amendments that would move the administration of elections
from the O.C. Registrar of Voters to the city and a flag ordinance to
limit the types of flags flown on city property. These amendments are
costly, unnecessary, redundant, and do not reflect the cultural, ethnic,
and gender diversity among city residents, businesses, and tourists.
Please join us, Protect Huntington Beach, to educate citizens of
potential changes in local government and campaign against these

We need to build public awareness of this critical moment — we’re at risk of seeing the city turned upside down. There are many ways you can help our group. Spread the word to their friends, family and other community groups. Help with fundraising, write letters to the editor, and speak at council meetings. We also need people to knock on doors and make phone calls — the City Council plans to have their Charter changes on the Primary ballots which will be mailed out on February 5!
As of February 1, 2024 the Protect Huntington Beach group is partnering with Citizens for Good Governance, NO on Measures A, B and C (FPPC # 1454094), to help us with our fundraising activities. They will ensure we follow all the applicable laws, and file FPPC reports on donations and expenditures that are made on behalf of our group. We appreciate their help!
